Poetry, Comedy and Music at The Angel of Bow’s Open Mic Nights

Every Wednesday from 7:30PM, starting 23rd February 2022.

Join us at our new Open Mic Night where we aim to showcase new talent and curate evenings full of music, poetry, performance and comedy.

A wonderful evening right on your doorstep in East London’s Bow! All acts are welcomed and encouraged, at what we hope to build into an inclusive and welcoming space for live performance. As well as open slots for musicians, poets, and performers, we’ll also have a weekly featured act for some guaranteed variety. We have the equipment, just bring yourselves and your instruments (or notebooks!) We are unable to cater for backing tracks, but are always happy to hear pieces accapella, or as a jam with musicians on the night.

Gracing us with their music for our first open mic night are the Nunhead Folk Cirlce! Check them out here: https://youtu.be/WFY7-MNpzwI

Your hosts:

Archie Shuttler has decades of experience hosting open mics and other events as well as being the band leader of a cult political satire act. Archie has also worked as a busker and currently teaches music production at ELATT school in Haggerston.

Len Hovis has also hosted open mics around London for decades, including the infamous Needleandthread, and even an open mic at Glastonbury festival! He plays saxophone in the Discount Orchestra and other bands, and is also a poet, DJ, and sound engineer.

Join us for an evening of fun and enjoy our craft ales and the freshest, locally sourced food in East London! See our food menus here.
